NewSchools, on Facebook?
NewSchools is considering becoming a part of the Facebook community. We'd love to hear your ideas regarding how best to create our presence on Facebook that enhances our work and that of the greater education entrepreneurship community. Please leave us your feedback!
I think it's a great idea. It's just another way for NewSchools to get itself out in the ether!

ReplyDeleteThis is a really good idea for building awareness and to keep folks engaged in your activities.
ReplyDeleteBased on my experience and talking with social media consultants, I'd suggest:
- Creat a "Page" if you're goals are more about sending updates and keeping people in the loop.
- Create a "Group" only if you have someone who is dedicated to online outreach and moderating online discussions.
- Keep new updates/posts to no more than one per day; I would recommend even less frequency and being very selective about what you post. I've noticed that some organizations are posting very ordinary activities which will lead to them getting ignored or "hidden" by fans and group members.
My organization actually hosted a social media conference last December. If you're interested in viewing the videos (each is about 20-25 minutes per session), or the Powerpoints, feel free to click to our Ning network..

Hope this is helpful,

NSVF on Facebook would be just great. With pictures, blog postings, news articles posted, etc. NSVF could share both key education news and your personality.

ReplyDeleteIn Coreball, a clicker game, you go through a series of stages that test your dexterity by requiring you to avoid crashing into obstacles while throwing the ball.
